The White Pearl with its warm, clear waters and immaculate 2km sandy white beach is surrounded by incredible natural beauty - situated just 25 km north of the Kosi Bay/South Africa Border. The Maputo Elephant Reserve is close by.

Transfers can be arranged from Maputo International airport, and is only a 30 minute helicopter flight from the capital city.

Accommodation

The White Pearl has 22 air-conditoned luxurious suites. Set amongst the dunes on stilts, each suite has its own plunge pool, covered deck area, outdoor shower and luxurious bathroom with magnificent sea views from the bathtub. The suites have been elegantly designed to blend in perfectly with the surrounding coastal landscape. In-room dining can be arranged as well as in-room massage treatments.

Facilities

The guest areas at the White Pearl have been designed with the focus on comfort and relaxation. The White Pearl Restaurant promises elegant beach chic dining whilst the more laid back Beach Bar is where guests can eat and relax during the day and evening with dishes such as rustic tapas. The Pool Bar is the ideal spot for sipping cocktails and admiring the spectacular views.

Other activities

The White Pearl is a naturalist's paradise offers a host of activities from exploring uninhabited expanses to horseback riding along the idyllic beaches. Guests can participate in: Fishing, Snorkelling, Scuba-diving, Swimming with Bottlenose dolphins, Horse riding, and kayaking.

Between November and February each year, Loggerhead and Leatherback Turtles head to the resorts stretch of coast to lay their eggs. It is one of the busiest turtle nesting places in Southern Mozambique. The resort works in partnership with the Southern Mozambique Marine Turtle Nesting Monitoring, Tagging and Conservation Programme. The resort manager can arrange viewings of the nesting site.

Our opinion

In our opinion the setting of The White Pearl is sublime. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and all the suites are well maintained. The staff are efficient, friendly and accommodating. The food is very good and the chefs cope well with all different diet requirements. The beach is cleaned daily and is simply beautiful and nearly always deserted. This eco-friendly resort offers something for everyone, it is great for a romantic getaway, perfect for a family holiday or those looking for adventure.
