Overview

Porini Mara Camp is a wildlife sanctuary home to a wide variety of species including big cats, and it is one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara eco-system. The area has vast open plains, forests, rivers and truly magnificent views. It is also the only safari camp set in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy making it a really intimate and exclusive setting for the ultimate safari adventure as there will only be a maximum of 12 guests at a time, and owing to the camp being in an untouched area and far away from crowds of tourists. From this camp you will also be able to have game drives in the nearby Masai Mara National Reserve which is only 18km away and the neighbouring Naboisho Conservancy.

Accommodation

Porini Mara offers 6 spacious and very comfortable en-suite tents. Each tent has been furnished comfortably to a high standard and has a large wooden veranda where you can relax and take in the ambiance of the surrounding wilderness. The en-suite toilets have safari showers with hot and cold water as well as a flush toilet.

Facilities

The quality at service at this camp is great. The camp chef uses only the freshest ingredients to prepare the highest quality meals as well as home-baked bread and fresh salads.

Porini Mara is an all-inclusive camp and so all your meals and drinks are included (including your alcoholic beverages). Not only this, but your daily safari activities are also incorporated into the price, this includes day and night game drives, sun downers and escorted walks.

Game drives will be in 4x4 safari vehicles with expert safari guides, and all guests will be able to experience the wilderness from their own window seat with-in the vehicle without the presence of other tourist vehicles due to the exclusive location of this camp.

Porini Mara Camp has its own airstrip for private charter flights that are also included in the price.

Other activities

From Porini Mara, you will also have the opportunity to book a hot air balloon safari where you will be able to take in breath taking views of the plains below you, allowing you to smell and soak up the area on a completely different level giving your safari that extra element of adventure and enhancing your safari experience.

Morning, evening and night game drives in Ol Kinyei Conservancy and the neighbouring Naboisho Conservancy.
Full day spent in Mara National Reserve with picnic lunch.

Our opinion

In our opinion Porini Mara is a wonderful camp with excellent personalised service. The staff are only too happy to help as nothing is too much trouble and they are extremely friendly. The food is also fantastic at this camp and the chef will cater for the various dietary needs. We definitely recommend this camp to anyone who wants the ultimate intimate safari adventure, as your guide / driver will make every effort to find you the best gaming experience, and due to your location you will not be disappointed with the variety of wildlife you will encounter. This is definitely a great place to see ‘The Big 5’.
