How do you get there?
Regular flights operate from Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam or Nairobi into Pemba airport. Londo Lodge has superbaccessibility and is only a 20 min boat trip away from Pemba town. The lodge is in the southern buffer zone of the Quirimbas National Park and offers bush & beach in one.

Are children welcome?
Londo Lodge welcomes children of all ages.

When is best to visit?
The Quirimbas Archipelago enjoyed the best climate from Apr to Nov. Heavy rains in January and February.

Accommodation

The Resort offers 5 spacious Standard Ocean View villas and 2 Luxury Ocean View villas which are double in size, have a private plunge pool, a mini bar and an extra lounge room; one of the two is a unique baobab tree villa with a tree-top bedroom and stunning veranda overlooking the azure waters of the Indian Ocean.

The seven thatched villas with en suite bathrooms have indoor and outdoor showers. Each villa has king-size, handmade mattresses from the UK, Belgium bed-linen, air conditioning units and a wide range of amenities. The Luxury Villas are private with an added living room and a larger teak deck with private plunge pool, plus superb private dining facilities. All villas have a private teak deck with ocean (sunset) views and the convenience of in-house dining.

Environment and local community

Londo Lodge has taken a proactive environmental, sustainable and community-involved stand from the first moment the Dutch owners set foot on the peninsula. The 3 local villages nearest to the hotel premises are all supported and supportive, thereby working within a unique and mutual beneficial partnership between environment, communities and hotel operations. All stakeholders have a say in any strategic decision that possibly affects any part of the area.

The precious marine diversity, as well as the wildlife in the Quirimbas National Park, are at constant threat. The hotel tries to create awareness among the fishermen by supplying acceptable fishnets, improved tools and educational sessions from which the communities involved can understand in more detail how thin the line is between devastating their environment or a co-existence, whereby all elements of the environment are respected.

Schools have been built and are running successfully, traineeships for students have been available from the day the lodge opened its doors. The lodge is a reliable and permanent buyer of fresh produce and fish, creating a consistent source of income for many villagers in the area. With its steady growth scenario, the lodge provides stable and growing employment opportunities for many.

The Quirimbas archipelago, is a captivating chain of 27 islands. These idyllic islands stretch from the city of Pemba in the south to the town of Palma in the north with pristine white sandy beaches along the entire Indian Ocean coastline.
