Overview

Situated in the Masai Mara, in an untouched exclusive concession bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves, the area guarantees privacy and an abundance of wildlife. The camp accommodates up to 28 guests in authentic white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished. They incorporate original safari antiques from the '20's, private en-suite dressing room and bathrooms, main bedrooms and verandas.

FAQ

How do you get there?
The nearest international airport is Nairobi. From there you fly to the Mara. Cottars 1920's Camp is 10 minutes from the airstrip.

When is best to visit?
Any time is good. The coolest month is July, with January and February being the warmest.

What wildlife will we see?
We cannot guarantee anything however you are likely to see: elephants, lions, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, gazelle, monkeys as well as numerous other mammals, birds, reptiles, trees and plants.

Are children welcome?
Yes, indeed, but as long as you and your children understand fully what a safari experience is all about.

Accommodation

Cottars 1920's Safari Camp comprises of:
  • 6 x 1920's style en-suite white tents (5 doubles and 1 twin).
  • 4 x family tented suites (each has 2 en suite bedrooms and a shared sitting / dining room).

Other activities

As the Cottars concession is outside the game parks, guided walks and night drives are allowed and highly recommended. By walking, you can get that much closer to nature, and if an opportunity to track wild game presents itself, the trained trackers will take you even closer still.

On a more self-indulgent note, the masseuse will now be based full-time at the camp for complimentary massages, manicures and pedicures. Any other needs that you may have will be met by butlers who have been trained to provide guests with discreet, yet attentive service.
