From late January over two million wildebeest gather on the south Serengeti plains to calf making this a magical time to visit. They will remain until mid April before moving on.

On the beaches around KwaZulu Natal in South Africa both Leatherback and Loggerhead turtles haul themselves up the beach and lay their eggs in the sand. Nine weeks later they are ready to hatch and begin life as one of the oceans great prehistoric wanderers.

Botswana's Kalahari Desert bursts into life with the arrival of the floods. Birds and wildlife flock from miles around to enjoy this rare seasonal bonanza of fresh food and water in an otherwise inhospitable area.

The Lemurs of Madagascar are at their most visible as they begin their courtship rituals.

Experience the roar at Victoria Falls. During May - June the river is at its fullest.

An excellent all round month to travel to Africa with excellent game viewing in Tanzania, South Africa and the Mara in Kenya. It’s also a great time to visit Zambia and the Okavango Delta in Botswana as it’s not too hot and dry.

Another excellent month for wildlife. Whale watching is great off the north east coast of Madagascar and also in South Africa as Southern Right Whales arrive to calf and can be seen until October. Its also a good time to watch the migration as millions of wildebeests cross the Grumeti River into the Mara in Kenya.

August is perfect for trekking the forest hills of Uganda and Rwanda searching for mountain gorillas.

Now that the August crowds have gone Zanzibar is the perfect place to take time out after a busy summer. The beaches here are beautiful and the weather glorious.

Tanzania with its outstanding combination of safari game and stunning beaches is again the place to be.

The wildebeest migration moves down the eastern Serengeti in Tanzania making for some excellent game viewing in this geographically diverse landscape. Why not visit the world famous Ngorongoro Crater to go Rhino spotting or take a Hot Air Balloon ride over the Serengeti plains.

Turtle watching at Mnemba. These prehistoric creatures can be seen laying their eggs on the pristine beaches of Mnemba Island in Tanzania. Nine weeks later the beaches are filled with tiny turtle hatchlings. Turtle season occurs between December and May.
